The Judiciary has sacked over 100 support staff over expired contracts and they have been ordered to leave with immediate effect.
According to the internal memo addressed to registrsrs, deputy registrars and magistrates on Wesdnesday, the Secretary to the judiciary, Kagole Kivumbi observed that there is a number of non-established staff whose contracts expired as far as April 2016 but have continued carrying out duties in the various courts which contradicts the Public Service Establishment Norms and Standards.
“You are, therefore, informed that the persons without valid contracts are no longer staff of the Judiciary. Please ensure that they hand over office and any other government property and vacate court premises with immediate effect without fail,” Kagole said.
