After two months in Luzira prison pending the hearing of his treason case, Dr Kizza Besigye could get bail on Tuesday from the High Court.
Although the prosecution has submitted objections to his bail application including the proof Besigye was 60 years old, sources privy to the case say, the opposition leader will get his freedom.
During his stay in Luzira, Besigye wrote a strong letter to the Chief Justice complaining of his rights that are being trampled upon. He however got some privileges such as sending his messages to the outside world, a rare privilege for ordinary inmates.
During his absence on the political scene, Museveni was sworn in president, FDC has taken upon its posts at parliament, opposition party leaders met the president under IPOD and, two of the party’s senior members are carrying Museveni’s messages across the continent asking that presidents elect Dr Specioza Wandira Kazibwe the best AU Commission chairperson.
