Makerere University lecturer Dr Amanda Tumusiime will be selling what is believed to be Uganda’s most expensive painting at $1.2 million. At a billion shilling solo art exhibition that will be at Emin Pasha hotel in Kampala, Dr Amanda Tumusiime will sale an art piece which she painted for 13 years narrating the ordeal of Girl child at $1.2 million an equivalent of over four (4) billion Uganda shillings. In what is expected to be Uganda’s record solo art exhibition, Dr Amanda will showcase over 25 art pieces that will include major pieces which she painted while in the United States “Accompanying a $1.2 million dollar master piece, I will be exhibiting more 25 pieces that I made between 2015 and 2016 in USA mainly representing American sceneries to help me raise funds and meet my dream of supporting girls education in Kahaaro Kabale,” Dr Tumusiime explained.

Dr Tumusiime explained that it took her 13 years to come with the master piece that is believed to be Uganda’s most expensive painting ever. Themed on empowering girl child education, Dr Tumusiime Amanda who hails from Kabaale district at Kahaaro village, believes girls at her village of birth have failed to rise due lack of education.
