Yesterday, the Uganda Communication Commission( UCC)  switched off Dembe FM  90.4 ,one of the best local radio stations in Uganda.

The regulatory body alleges that Dembe FM was closed due to failure to comply with the broadcasting standards and that the station uses outdated equipments.

Dembe FM is a sister station to KFM 93.3 owned by Monitor publications, a largely known anti government publication.

Prior, Dembe FM was owned by city businessman Patrick Bitature who later sold it to Monitor publications.
